CREATIVE CITY FRANKFURT

Portrait der Gründer:innen des Modelabels Moskito

The creative economy plays an important role in Frankfurt am Main: its economic strength, cultural diversity, capacity for innovation and contribution to urban development make Frankfurt an attractive creative city.

Globally acclaimed game studios develop and distribute their gaming products, which are sold in their millions, from the metropolis on the River Main. AI companies and 3D pioneers are researching new virtual realities and possible applications. The proximity to Europe's largest data hub is an unbeatable argument in favour of the location for both digital companies and data-driven communications agencies. With the quality of their designs, focus on sustainability, efficient use of resources and focus on the needs of users, Frankfurt's architects have not only left their mark on the cityscape of Frankfurt, they have also made an impact worldwide.

In view of the developments of recent years, the City of Frankfurt am Main hopes to demonstrate one thing with its master plan: all aspects of the creative economy make a significant contribution to the success of the business location. The City of Frankfurt am Main and Frankfurt Economic Development will do their bit to further strengthen the creative economy ecosystem. Everyone is invited to be part of this creative process. For Frankfurt. Creative City.

DESIGN AS A DRIVER OF INNOVATION

Frankfurt am Main uses design to promote creative ideas for social, urban and cultural development and innovation. Our goal is to shape our society in a sustainable way. Starting with "New Frankfurt", the city has repeatedly been the starting point for creative developments and social change. With "Design for Democracy. Atmospheres for a better life", Frankfurt RheinMain embarked on a design process that helped it reach the final of the "World Design Capital" competition in 2026.

SPACE OFFERS

For cultural and creative industries

In a city that is as dynamic as Frankfurt am Main, it is essential to find space for creative opportunities. Start-ups and creative trailblazers are looking for venues and areas in which to experiment with their projects all over the city. The team at the Competence Centre for Creative Industries can help you find the right space by providing the necessary information and offering customised advice on districts and neighbourhoods. The city’s RADAR agency rounds off the services offered by the Economic Development Agency: it acts as an intermediary between creative professionals and individuals offering space and provides advice on the "Frankfurt Programme to Promote the Conversion of Vacant Spaces for Creative Professionals" organised by the City Planning Office.
